Laguna Hills, CA (February 13, 2007) – BriteAge Corporation announced the addition of Sherri Medina to the Board of Directors.
Tony Lazos, President & CEO of BriteAge Corporation, said, “We are extremely pleased to announce the addition of Ms. Sherri Medina to the Board of Directors. Her extensive background in brain trauma and healthcare, coupled with a successful entrepreneurial business background will prove helpful to BriteAge’s growth.”
Sherri Medina is Executive Director of CareMeridian, a leading provider of residential subacute care services to the catastrophically ill and injured population. Previously, from 1997-2006, Sherri served as CEO/Owner of CareMeridian. Sherri is also a principal partner in Journey Healthcare Properties, a firm which owns and leases healthcare facilities in California and Nevada. From 1995-1997, Sherri was Senior Vice-President of Rehabilitation Services, a $200 million division, and an officer of Regency Health Services, Inc., a leading national provider of post-acute care services and California’s largest operator of long-term care facilities (NYSE – RHS). Regency had previously acquired South Coast Rehabilitation Services (SCRS) that Sherri founded, which provided physical, occupational, speech, and respiratory therapy services to hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, and home health agencies. She grew SCRS from one employee and $33,000 in revenues to over 1,500 associates and sales of $100 million.
Sherri specialized in the area of geriatric neurology prior to founding SCRS. She also has extensive therapeutic experience in the area of traumatic brain injury.
Sherri was named 1994 Entrepreneur of the Year in Healthcare in Orange County, an award sponsored by Inc. magazine and Ernst & Young, and received a Women in Business Award from the Orange County Business Journal in 1996. She serves as the Chairman of the Board at Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center and is President-Elect for the National Charity League of Saddleback Valley. She has been a member of Young Presidents Organization (YPO) since 1994 and the Women’s Executive Round Table of Orange County since 1998. Her affiliations also include the American Speech Language Hearing Association, California Speech Language Hearing Association, and the Case Management Society of America. Sherri earned her BA in 1982 and MS in 1984, both in Communicative Disorders, from the University of Redlands.
